Nevena Padovan, PhD student

Education. Graduated in Speech and Language Pathology in 2004 on Faculty of Special Education and Rehabilitation, University of Zagreb. She is currently a doctoral student of cognitive neuroscience (Language and cognitive neuroscience, University of Zagreb).

Scientific interest. Her scientific interest is focused on language processing, language acquisition, language pathology, cognitive science.

Scientific projects. She participated in following projects: Tempus project: Language Communication and Cognitive Neuroscience (CD_JEP- 18089-2003); Acquisition of Croatian in crosslinguistic perspective: psycho- and neurolinguistic approach (MZOŠ 0013002); International project of the Institute Ludwig Boltzmann, Vienna: Sprachentwicklung in- und auslandendischen Kinder Oesterreichen-Kroatien-Tschechien; and currently is collaborating in Tempus project: Establishing Interdisciplinary curricula and Centre for postgraduate studies and research in Cognitive Sciences in Croatia (CD_ JEP-41043-2006); European Research Network (COST ISO804) Language Impairment in a Multilingual Society: Linguistic Patterns and the Road to Assessment and Higher cortical functions and language: developmental and acquired disorders (013-013484-1488).
She is a managing organizer and local host of annual Dubrovnik Conference of Cognitive Science (DUCOG) series from 2009 till 2012 and she contributed to The Central European Cognitive Science Association establishment, founded on May 22nd, 2009.

Published items.She coordinated a standardization of Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test - III (PPVT-III; Dunn, Dunn, Kovačević et al, 2009) on Croatian population and is a co-author of the Croatian version of the PPVT-III test. She published several papers and participated in 17 international and domestic scientific conferences.

Membership. She is a member of Croatian philological Society, Croatian Society for Neuroscience, International Association for the Study of Child Language – IASCL, and Federation of European Neurosciences - FENS.
